API Call for Expression of Interest(EOI) – IPSAS, IFRS & Data Analytics for Individual Experts

Introduction

The African Professionalisation Initiative (API) is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individual experts experienced as accountancy, auditing and data analytics professionals to join our pool of experts. This pool will support API’s mission to professionalise Africa’s public sector by delivering:

  1. Quality tuition support in the API Professionalisation programmes;
  2. Tailored training International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Public Sector Auditing – These are core modules in the API professionalisation programme; and
  3. Train and support implementation of Data Analytics and AI for API students and stakeholders.

Joining API’s expert pool offers you a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by strengthening financial governance and building capacity across the African public sector. As an expert, you may be called upon to provide services on an as-needed basis in response to the requirements and needs of API stakeholders, which include public sector institutions and governments.

Target Audience

We are seeking seasoned individual professionals with demonstrated expertise in delivering high-quality training and implementation support in IPSAS, IFRS, Public Sector Auditing Standards and Data Analytics for public sector stakeholders. Applicants should have a passion for advancing transparency and accountability in public financial management.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for API’s pool of experts, applicants do not need expertise in all listed areas. We encourage you to express interest based on your specific competencies, such as IPSAS, IFRS, Public Sector Auditing, Data Analytics and AI, or any combination of these. Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • 15 years or more of demonstrated experience in delivering IPSAS or IFRS or Public Sector Auditing or Data Analytics & AI training and implementation support.
  • Proven experience in providing training and implementation support to public sector organizations, ministries, or government agencies.
  • Additional expertise in Public Financial Management (PFM) and Artificial Intelligence will be a significant advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse multi-cultural audiences effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Experts included in the pool will be expected to:

  • Deliver comprehensive IPSAS or IFRS or Data Analytics training tailored to the needs of public sector professionals and API stakeholders.
  • Develop and/or customize training materials to ensure relevance to the local / in country context.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives that align with API’s vision and mission.

Important Note

Selection into API’s pool of experts does not guarantee appointment or work. Inclusion means you will be eligible to be contacted for training and consultancy assignments as they arise, based on API’s project requirements and stakeholder needs.

      • Education and professional qualifications.
      • Membership of any professional bodies (e.g., IFAC-member organizations; other professions, etc).
      • Summary of relevant experience, including training and consulting assignments.
    1.  A short statement of motivation (200-300 words) explaining:
      • Why you are interested in joining API’s pool of individual experts.
      • How your expertise aligns with API’s mission and vision.
    2. Detail experience gained at supervisory and/or leadership level.
    3. A list of past clients or organisations you have trained or consulted for, with a brief description of the type of training delivered.
    4. Your availability, specifying when you are ready to begin delivering training assignments for API.
