Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA)

SIDA’s investment has been pivotal in shaping API’s strategic growth, funding staff salaries, and driving the successful development and rollout of core public sector professionalisation programmes. With their essential support, API has implemented MOUs in 8 countries and digitized its entire learning platform, enabling innovative and scalable professionalisation initiatives.

Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA)

PAFA’s critical role in securing financial support through partnerships with IFAC and other donors has been essential to API’s success. By volunteering staff and acting as a key fundraiser, PAFA has enabled API’s launch in 8 countries, driving professionalisation efforts across Africa.

GAVI, The Vaccine Alliance

GAVI’s funding has been instrumental in translating and adapting API content from English to French, enabling the programme’s entry into French-speaking Africa, beginning with Burkina Faso. This strategic contribution is expanding professionalisation opportunities across new African sub-regions.

The Global Fund (TGF)

By funding the translation and contextualization of API content into French, TGF has enabled a dynamic rollout across French-speaking Africa. This critical support is expanding API’s impact and fostering professionalisation in new and emerging markets.

African Development Bank (AfDB)

AfDB’s focused investment has transformed API’s localised impact by funding country-specific content for Liberia and Zimbabwe, recruiting dedicated country coordinators, and facilitating travel and workshops. This funding is accelerating professionalisation efforts across API’s implementing regions.

AFROSAI-E

As host of the API secretariat, AFROSAI-E has been crucial in providing financial, administrative, and HR services. Their funding of key staff positions and facilitation of MOUs with 8 countries has greatly contributed to API’s success and its growing impact across the continent.

USAID

USAID funding enabled API staff to visit four countries (Botswana, Zimbabwe, Liberia & Namibia), securing crucial stakeholder support. Additionally, USAID’s investment in three consultants has advanced our health sector performance audits program, with the University of Botswana nearing completion of a groundbreaking learning program.

Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)

FCDO’s early seed funding laid the foundation for API by supporting a critical study and the development of a white paper, which made a compelling case for professionalisation in Africa’s public sector, setting the stage for API’s ongoing impact.

International Federation of Accountants (IFAC)

By mobilizing donors through key partnership MOUs, IFAC has galvanized support for Public Financial Management (PFM) strengthening and PAO development. This leadership is driving API’s impactful rollout across all implementing countries.
